10 commandments I try to live up to

1. Recognise and acknowledge your influences
   In my case the most significant being Seymour Papert, whose philosophy is summed up in his Big 8 Ideas.
   
2. Digital can empower learners and their learning
   In my case it’s about generating and testing ideas to provide connected opportunities.
3. Education should be about providing equal opportunity
   Anything I do could be done in any school
4. If of learning value all students should have opportunity to benefit
   It should not be just about the teacher as such ideas will wither.
   We can evaluate by how long ideas endure when instigator departs.
5. Good Teachers are Good Learners
   Teachers need to be lifelong learners who lead by example
6. Education should empower learners to go further
   Need to ask: what can you make with that learning
7. Education is a Journey
   Like Plato’s Cave, Education is a search for a holy grail
8. Educators Empower, Teachers Delivers
   Good Education is connected, empowering and self-improving
9. Educators should question
   From Socrates we know critical thinkers improve education
10. Learning is Personal, Education reflects Society, School is a Community
    And the interplay is complex. But School is critical to societal and community health.
