What direction, what goal for using digital in education

Posted by jturner56 on November 24, 2014

Been a bit tardy in blogging. It’s the 800m sprint time of the northern hemisphere school year so been a bit occupied with being part of the mid-year school hamster wheel.

Part of this, though, has been an opportunity to look at student digital portfolios which have been around for a few years.

What I learned was that without clear worthwhile goals and measurable impact teacher professional learning intentions for more positive learning outcomes will most likely fall short.

So what should we be aiming for?

As this graphic, which reflects some of our thinking, points to, it requires clarity, energy and focus to tread the upward line building connections of value while remaining open to innovation. One can too easily fall back into check-box mentalities or free-for-all interpretations if not culturally valued.
